*IMPORTANT! SIZING FOR "SONATA MARK 2" IS NOT THE SAME AS FOR THE "SONATA MARK 1", the "MELODY" or for street sizing or other brands, styles or models. You MUST consult the following sizing guidelines (which are specific to this particular shoe) to help you choose your correct size. |
SHOWSTOPPER® "Sonata Mark 2" full-sole is a top-end junior ballet shoe, featuring:
- Soft and durable premium leathers;
- Suede innersole and brushed cotton lining;
- Elastic;
- Elastic drawstring;
- Flattering styling and comfortable fit;
- Fleshtone pink upper with neutral suede full-sole.
***Which Colour Should I Choose? ***
"Sonata Mark 2" is currently available in "fleshtone pink" colour. For "salmon pink", please see our "Sonata Mark 1".
Both "salmon pink" and "fleshtone pink" are very common ballet shoe colours (although they do go by different names) in Australia, and both are frequently referred to as "pink" ballet shoes. Although a few teachers prescribe a required colour shade, in most cases it simply comes down to personal preference. "Salmon pink" is the stronger of the 2 colours, and "fleshtone pink" is a similar (slightly enhanced) colour shade to that of our "Melody" shoe.
"Sonata Mark 2" really is one of the nicest junior ballet shoes available - and it's an absolute bargain at our special introductory list price!
Sizing: This style is standard (medium) width girls' sizing. It does not suit boys/ men or anyone with a non-standard foot width. Available sizes Girls' 10 - Ladies' 6 (please add $2 for sizes L4-L6).
Sizing Guidelines SHOWSTOPPER® "Sonata Mark 2"
Remember, our shoe sizing will most likely NOT match your street shoe sizes or your size in other brands or styles - and, with very few exceptions, all shoes that we sell are sized differently. "Sonata Mark 2" is sized quite differently to the "Melody", and also to the "Sonata Mark 1", but you can use the respective shoe length tables to determine the relative sizes of the shoes.
Please follow these instructions carefully to help you choose the correct size.
! Step 1: Measure your foot length...
- Please measure from the very back of the heel to tip of the longest (not necessarily the big) toe.
- This is best done while standing on a tape or ruler with your heel against a wall or door. Be sure to align the zero point of your tape correctly.
- Please measure both feet and use the larger of the 2 measurements (however, if there is a large difference between the feet some averaging may be required).
- Please measure later in the day as foot size tends to increase throughout the day
- Please measure to the nearest millimetre and do not round your measurement - measure carefully using the exact technique described - a few mm may make a difference!
! Step 2: Please select the appropriate shoe length from the table below, according to the following recommendations (note that you are looking for a shoe which is BIGGER than the foot by the following margins)...
- YOUNGER DANCERS should generally select a shoe which is 9-14mm longer than your foot;
- OLDER DANCERS (particularly more experienced dancers) may prefer a snugger fitting shoe (generally in the order of app 4-9mm longer than your foot). Please check your measurements very carefully, as there is very little room for error when fitting a snugger shoe.
- INTERMEDIATE DANCERS fall somewhere in the middle, and should typically select shoes 8-12mm longer than the foot.
Please note that the above margins do not equate to "growing room". Dance shoes are generally designed to be worn quite snug, and sizing charts obviously can't accommodate "growing room", which is very subjective. It is very difficult in a dance shoe to achieve both a satisfactory immediate fit and significant growing room - so it's usually best to aim for a good fit now and accept that your shoes will possibly need replacing more often than you'd like - it's good to know that these shoes are such great value!
! Step 3: Please select your size from the select box above.
| Size | App. SHOE length (mm) * Note that this is the SHOE length, NOT the FOOT length (Your shoe must be BIGGER than your foot by the margins indicated in step 2 above). |

*Our sizing guides are provided for your reference. They are based on considerable product testing and we have found them to yield excellent results. We have found that sizing problems generally result from user error, so please take the time to review our guidelines carefully and take care to measure as accurately as possible.
There is, of course, always some risk of sizing errors when buying shoes or apparel online. We are happy to refund or exchange (subject to our returns policy) if you do have problems, but please note that you will be responsible for all associated postage costs. Our pricing is such, however, that, even in this event, you will, in most cases, still save over retail store pricing.
